I haven't written poetry in about 15 years. This is something I just wrote.
Balancing
This old tightrope
Has become wider,
More secure and taut
The air is still now
(But sometimes I tremble)
Balancing steady
Allows me to glance about
And relish life
Comfort, excitment, love
What a thrill
To no longer live with
The fear of falling
To live is joy.
