I used to wrap myself
in thoughts of you,
as I might
a cozy comforter,
each night
when I went to bed.
I coaxed myself, lovingly,
into peaceful sleep
with your beautiful eyes,
voice,
words
dancing through my head,
hopeful and content.But now
I enclose myself
in the cold shroud
of rejection,
icy tears streaming into my hair,
as i try, hopelessly,
to resurrect
your warm embrace.
