GardenerGirl -- got a challenge for you!

Posted by Racer on February 28, 2004, at 16:17:25

A few years ago, I collaborated on a paper with a professor at a 'big' university. At that time, and since then, he's asked me if I'd like to do it again, or to write something on my own for him to submit for me. I'd like to do it, but I've got all kinds of self-doubt issues going on. I realize that all of those issues will be entirely outside any understanding you could have ;-) -- man, you know I crack myself up -- and I'm wondering if you'd be interested in offering one another direct support? Say, we send weekly updates to one another, you on your dissertation, me on whatever I decide to write, and cheer one another on through the process? Maybe trade some ideas on how to get past stumbling blocks, offer our weekly goals, and report on how well we acheive them?

I'm not offering this to you, by the way. I'm asking you if you'll do it. Something like that would really help me right now, because I am in a crisis state that's gone on way too long, and I need to do something to get out of it. I'm like a car stuck in neutral -- motor's running, but wheels won't turn. My hope is that, if I can do *something*, I can shake myself out of this state of paralysis.

If you're interested and/or willing, you can email me at babbler39@excite.com, or you can post here that it's not something you're into.

Thanks for reading this, anyway!

I emailed you. Great idea. Also, you might want to be careful about posting your email address in normal form. There are "bots" on the web that roam around searching for email addresses to use for spam and such. I tend to post mine like this:

gardenergirl88 at yahoo dot com

Supposedly, this fools them, the buggers!

Take care and talk to you soon.
