MISSING THEM
I see them in my minds eye
and in pictures on my wall
I see them as they were
but thats not them now at allWhy are they not here
this I do not know
I did not do anything wrong
For them to have to go
Why was I so trusting
Or am I just a foolHow can someone keep my heart
and act like it's okay
He lied to me and stole my trust
As he had done before in every way
His cold heart has gotten him far
All is well and fine
Never any distractions
From his joyful little lifeThey are my kids
And I love them more
Than he could ever know
Crying is a part of this
that I will never let goTelling them I love them
Each and every day
Doesn't equal holding them
and watching as they preyHe listens to me cry
And beg for him
to change his evil ways
But he looks at me
Turns his head and doesn't hear a word I sayOne day when this cruel world ends
He'll answer for his wrongs
And maybe then
He will say
"I'm sorry I did you wrong"Until that day
I hope and prey
That God from above
Will add some kindness to his heart
And allow him to love

Wow. Sounds like you are hurting. But I really like this part:
"Doesn't equal holding them
and watching as they prey"Did you mean "pray"? If you did mean "prey" it's even more powerful. Sorry if I appear stupid, I read it both ways.

You're missing your children.....I'm missing my son who went to live with his father 18 months ago......It's heartbreak, every damn day.
I love him so much.
A beautiful poem, thank-you.

Starlight,
It's amazing just how much energy we save from what's happened to us. Sometimes we use it for good, as is the case with your poem. It speaks volumes about the pain you've lived with, your thirst for justice, and in your faith that something more powerfull will eventually vindicate you.
Thank you.
Dee.
