You are responsible for the manner in which others treat you. What can you do when others don’t treat you in the way that you
want to be treated? The single most important factor is to remember is that it is not effective or productive to blame others for their failure to meet our needs. If you tolerate disrespect, you will be disrespected. If you tolerate being used, you will be used. It’s a simple as that. You send out automatic boundary information silently each day to those you interact with. If people are violating these boundaries, it is up to you to redefine and communicate these boundaries in a clearer manner. It is up to you to teach others how to treat you. And yes the
adage generally applies too: Treat others how you wish to be treated.

go ahead and redirect it because I don't know how, or if I'm even supposed to know how.
