I'm sobbing in fear of test 2moro

Posted by Fivefires on October 24, 2007, at 13:44:01

Maybe I just need 'to get it all out'. I dunno. I'm in freakin' tears' here.

I'm afraid; afraid I'll freeze up and my fingers will just start twitching all over the place when I'm taking the typing test! o_o

Yesterday I needed an extra benzo as my stomach felt it was going to exit up through my throat and right out my mouth. (Sorry. Is it lunch time?)

Oh dear. This is ridiculous. I'm childish!

I went back and read one of my posts this morn' and I completely misspelled (Or, is it mispelled? See, I can't even think perfectly!) And, OMgosh, my fingers are stiff :( ...

I need to 'focus' and 'relax'.

Oh hell! Yes, I'm thankful 'the money tree' is in view, but getting close to it feels overwhelming!

You all prob' don't even know what I'm rambling on about.

It's a 3-part test ... typing speed, spelling, and homonyms (aid v. aide), for an in-home med trans position.

The phone is ringing. Best check it out. Just needed to (Or, in Hawaii you'd just leave the 'to' out; gramatically incorrect, but the way they talk there.) touch base.

gooddayuall, 5f

Try not to scare yourself off of the interview, 5F. You'll do fine - think of your experience, your firm skills (did you find an online typing tutor?) that just need some brushing up. And terminology doesn't ever change; once you've learned them, they remain the same. You know you know them, so trust yourself to know them.

I well understand the nervousness of trying to reenter the work force world, and I haven't even done it, really. Let the benzos do their work (as prescribed of course ;-) ) and let your fingers and subconscious take over. It really is like riding a bike.

Realized just now I'd not taken my morning benzo dose so that could account this for this 'flare up'.

I will look for the online typing tutor, but it's really difficult to type w/ my keyboard up as high as it is; still I'll check it out. Just took what should have taken this a.m. so will rest just a bit and then do a search.

tks again for your support, 5f

I did find a site and posted a link on your thread on the social board. Take it easy, sweetie, and don't sweat this little ol' job interview. Think of it as a practice run!

Got grip on self-confidence + abilities

I wore myself out w/ this nervousness and had a good rest. Think over the worst of worrying/nervousness.

I've decided if I should feel this way in the a.m. (I just don't 'test' well!), I'll sort of 'step out of myself and behave as if'; think you know what I mean.

You've been so helpful and supportive CS, and others here as well. I have to think 2moro will be just fine.

I'm already feeling more confident and collected this eve', and getting prepared. Have casual, no blue jeans, attire prepared. I'm scanning through a medical book, checking on some homonyms that tripped me up in the past and other medical spelling quirks, along w/ setting alarm(s).

I'll let ya' know how it all went midday 2moro, or, well, ... sometime 2moro anyway :)
