I'm going to work on Tues

Posted by Deneb on July 17, 2006, at 1:42:31

My uncle called to ask me if I could work at his restaurant. I said yes. I'm going to work! From 12 to 6 p.m.

A reason to get out of bed in the morning! I think work will be very good for me. On the downside, this means I won't be able to take that volunteering job at the hospital.

Yay! I'm going to make some money! I've decided I'm not going to spend any of the money I make this summer. I'm going to save it up. Maybe I should invest it.

I'm going to ask if I can work 2 days out of a week when classes start.

Good luck on Tuesday!

It should be good to get some structure to your days, and earning money is always a good thing.

I agree with Dinah. But save some money to treat your self. Love Phillipa

It turns out I'm only working from 12-4 on Mon. and Tues. Bummer. My uncle cares too much about the bottom line. If you have a coupon, he gives you less food. Isn't that horrible? If you're elderly or a woman, he gives you less food. I don't like how my uncle values money more than anything else in his life, more so than his family. When his daughter was born, he missed the birth because he didn't want to pay for parking. When his son had to have emergency surgery, he didn't even come see his son. He had to work. He owns the fast food restaurant, it's not like he couldn't miss work. He also doesn't use dish washing liquid or detergent, he's too cheap to use soap. He uses bleach and get this, rice water (water that has washed rice) to clean. He also thins out the hotsauce and sauce by adding water.
