This drug is called clonadine. It was originally for mild high blood pressure. Later they found it it's a alpha-blocker. That means the receptors that recieve the withdrawl symptoms of most everything. Honest, I'm a alcki-addict I've been around. It really works, no buzz but wow its great. My anxiety is controlled as well, 20min it's gone just like a xanax. If you need to stop...you owe it to yourself to try..goodluck

Clonidine is an alpha2-adrenergic *agonist*, not an antagonist. Other similar medications include guanfacine and lofexidine.
