I have been taking it for 10 months now and am currently on 120mg. I need to stop urgently because it is giving me strange side effects.
How fast can I withdraw??
Thanks kindly in advance for any inputs...

> DDelna,
Unless the side effects are life threatening, I would slowly taper the med. If you taper too quickly, you will end up with even worse problems.
I know nothing about Geoden so forgive my ignorance. If it can be cut, I would taper 10% of the current dose every 3 to 6 weeks. Your brain needs time to adapt to the neurochemical changes this drug has made.
I purchased a digital jewelry scale on EBay in denomination of .001g. It isn't expensive.
If it can't be cut, you will need a local compound pharmacist. Get your physician to write the prescription you need and take it there. Insurance coverage could be tricky so I sure hope you can cut this pill.
With an antipsychotic, you may need to even go slower than the 10% rate.
Again, do not cold turkey this med or taper too quickly unless the side effects are life threatening.
Even when Remeron was causing a hearing loss, I have stuck to the 10% rule. I tried to speed it up and paid dearly. Don't make that mistake.
