down to 15 mg. Cymbalta and feeling like a...

...bitch!! I'm sooooo iritable and just want to STRANGLE people. Unfortunately, I'm a teacher, so a lot of this aggression is coming out onto my students! I don't know what to do, but I definitely don't want to stop decreasing. I'm desperate to get off this medication. I'm also feeling really emotional and find it very easy to cry. Oddly, however, I'm not getting the other withdrawal effects (dizziness, brain zaps, nausea, etc.). How much longer will my anger and other emotions be out of control? I plan to go down to 0 mg. next week! Is there anything I can do to remedy this withdrawal symptom? I'm currently taking SAM-e and mega doses of EPA fish oil. I also use l-theanine for anxiety. What else can I do????? Thanks for any responses. :)

Hey!

I hate it when I can't even stand to be around myself and I am the new super hero .... Psycho Bitch.

Girl, I'm not leaving MY cymbalta.
But one time I was without meds for a week because of $ or lack there of.
I ended up creating some very clear boundaries. (which were needed)
And expressing some very strong emotions to folks that deserved it.
I also had a terrible crash and burn 2 day crying session. It sucked. But, I think, I needed it.

Is there anyway to possibly give in to the moment and go ahead and have a fit? I know the hard part is that the moment comes at the MOST inopportune times. Maybe you could kinda'(dare I say) plan for a good fit and then find someway to really nurture yourself. Just knowing you have some relief ideas coming might make you feel not soo vulnerable and help you keep from going off on the kids.

Is there anyone that you owe a good telling off?
Now is a great time to do it!
Of course you don't want to get fired ... but I bet you can think of someone.

Also, find a way to get by yourself and have that cry. You need it! You deserve it! You feel like sh*t right now.

Then spend a night eating your MOST FAVORITE comfort food, take a hot bath and make sure the phone is turned off.

I'll be thinking of you.

Possibly go back up in dose and then come down slower in smaller steps?

Also, the SAMe might actually be aggravating the situation. It is stimulating usually. Aggravation, irritation, anxiety, that kind of stuff, is not unusual with SAMe.

Might be an idea to take low doses of xanax to calm things down, mellow out, and get a little mood boost at the same time.

Theanine is usually relaxing, but not always...some of it converts to dopamine and could make things worse. I'm weird because when I tried theanine it made me uncomfortably anxious.

A small dose of prozac, like 5mg (drink a portion of the capsule contents stirred in juice) will help come off cymbalta due to its long half life. Just one small dose a week should help.

On the natural front, passion flower herbal tinctures, especially combined with lemon balm and lavender is very calming and mellowing. Bottles are only about $9 each. They work very fast and last about 3 to 4 hours before you need more. Good for the rough moments.

Just some ideas to ease the pain.

Is it typical to crave sugar while coming off meds? I'm kind of a sugar-holic anyway, but right now I feel like I could just KILL for something sweet! What's up with that??
