I'm attempting to withdraw from klonopin. I've switched over to valium, and have gone from 25mgs to 17. Having horrible WD effects, namely memory/speech, depression, irritablility, mood swings, derealization, extreme light sensitivity.
What has been shown to be most effective for benzo withdrawal?
Topamax impairs my memory more. Lamictal gives me insomnia.
I've tried neurontin for a couple days, and made me very tired. Still an option
Shall i consider depakote or tegretol? Any others?
Your recommendations are much appreciated. Thanks so much.
I'm stranded in china w/ no PDOCS, but a GP that will give me what i want.
But i can not function like this, even working will become too difficult.
Regards,
Brian Brown

You and I are going through alot of the same symptoms. Why are you getting off of Klonopin? If it works why stop?

It's not really working (was masking symptoms for a couple months at best). I had built a tolerance, and am experiencing tolerance withdrawals (have most the time i've been on it). I have a history of alcohol abuse, so refused to go above 1.5-2mgs, now im obviously finding it hard to get off of. I just don't think that the benzos are beneficial for me and my body chemistry, and abuse history.
This is the end of the thread.
