Took Prozac for a year for anxiety and panic. Had weight gain, alcohol cravings, blurred vision, tremors, no climax during sex, incontinence. Went off with no problem.
Doc put me on 150mg daily EfforXR with the starter pak. Gained additional 20 pounds in three months, tremors, incontinence, no climax, etc. Tried to go off this stuff in three weeks time, and incredible vertigo to the point I was incapacitated and had to lay in bed. Vomiting, electric brain shocks. (If you can imagine the surge feeling you get sticking your tongue on the end of a 9volt battery only in your brain)horrific vivid dreams.
Effexor has control of me still yet a month later after trying to wean off more slowly. I am so upset that I am SO sick and this drug WILL NOT release me. It takes days/weeks/months away from your life you will never get back as you are nauseated to the point of vomiting if you dont lay down.
MY REASONS FOR TAKING THIS DRUG TO BEING WITH WERE FAR MORE EASIER TO LIVE WITH! MY LIFE IS NOW CRIPPLED DUE TO THIS DRUG!! IT IS SO SCARY YOU START TO THINK YOU WILL NEVER GET AWAY FROM IT.

I'm going to continue to SUCK IT UP and get off Effexor. I quit cigerettes because I didnt like being "owned" by a chemical. I will eventually get my life back from this chemical.
Anxiety and panic made physical changes in my body. I know it can be very powerful. I have educated and read everything I could find that was higly recommended in this area. I can deal better with it now. I KNOW what it is and what it can do. It's no longer frightening to me. The EfexorXR however, is VERY frightening to me.

i am happier after going through the hardest parts.. but you have to do what is right for you. I hope you kick it.
