I never knew that effexor was so difficult to get off of... I would like to get off of effexor in the next couple of months but am kind of worried now of the withdrawal symptoms...

Don't forget, experiences with the medicine will vary person to person. I wouldn't fear it, but consider it that you're warned, and you can be prepared. I was glad that I could go off of Effexor XR gradually, and schedule it so I could deal with whatever symptoms showed up (take time off work, etc.) I warned my friends and family to help keep an eye on me. I, personally, found I had a minimal withdrawl experience compared to what I've read. Look for older posts, SLS recommends a nice tapering system which takes time but reduces symptoms. rabble_rouser had a set of vitamins which gave no symptoms during withdrawal.
Now for me: it's just dealing with depression without the medicine's help.
Good luck!
