I had heard someone from these boards suggest once you have finished tapering off effexor, try using benadryl. I did and it worked, It doesn't stop it in it's tracks but it takes the nasty edge off. I have been off effexor xr from 150mg down to 75mg then for about six weeks I opened my capusles and tipped some out, a little more each week for 6 weeks until I could actually see the bottom of the capsule with a few pellets in it. I took my last capsule 4 days ago and started taking benadryl. It's day 4 and I feel great. Everytime I feel my head starting to zap I take a swig from the bottle and it goes away. Good Luck everyone out there trying to get of this horrendous drug, I was only on it for about 6 months
