Jeesh it seems all of us at least most of us are trying to get off this evil Effexor drug. I wish I never started taking it to be honest with you, and now I am so scared to stop after reading the massive amount of Effexor hell related stories around here, WOW.

Hi,
I just want to encourage you to go ahead and start tapering if you want to get off. I was also *very* scarred when I started over a year ago, but the tapering has gone very well and I'm so looking forward to being off of this junk in about another 6 months.
Take the amount of time you have been on Effexor and divide by two--that's how long you should take to taper off inorder to significantly reduce the intensity of withdrawal symptons.
You CAN do this! Be patient with yourself and the time it takes to get off--it will be worth it!
Blessings,
RL

It made me feel like I was in a bubble--I had this far away feeling. Because I originally took it for panic attacks, I actually became more socialable because I no longer feared having the attacks. While I've always been outgoing, it made me EXTRA outgoing--I even thought to myself--"what the heck is this; I found myself annoying!!!
It make me feel not motivated and my short term memory was gone--couldn't remember 5 seconds after I locked the door to our home that I did it and would ask my children over and over if I indeed locked it.
This is the end of the thread.
