Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has any information for me. I am on my 4th day of lexapro withdrawel and I need to know what other people have been experiencing. This is my 3rd attempt weaning off the Lexapro because of weight gain, headaches, forgetfulness, and pure lack of energy. I honestly can't remember anything since I was on this drug.
I have been on it for a year and a half now just for anxiety and I have gained almost 40 pounds. It cured my anxiety for the most part, but now I am suffering from a little depression because of the drastic weight gain. I could have dealt with 15 pounds, but 40 is a bit much to accept especially on a 5'4" petite frame.
However I was just looking for some input and I was reading in various sites how most people gain between 20 and 40 pounds from this drug. I was wondering if anyone who has successfully weaned off the lexapro has lost the weight they have gained. I tried diet and excercising everyday and still no change with the weight.

I'm in the same boat as you--only I'm tapering from Effexor--the precurser to Lexapro. I've gained 50 lbs!

Yes I have had every test done including a Catscan for the headaches and memory loss I have experienced on the Lexapro. I am now on my 9th day of withdrawel and I forgot to take my half of dose last night because I feel asleep and today I feel a little sick to my stomach and light headed. Where are you in your withdrawel??

> Anxious babeHi,
My highest dose was 150mg Effexor XR - once a day.
I am currently at 37.50mg Effexor tablet - which I split in half, talking half in the morning and half at night.
My general practitioner originally had me withdrawing in half doses: 150 to 75 to 37.50 to nothing--my whole being went into shock! I had 98% of withdrawal symptons.
You can read how I've been tapering (I switched to a psychiatrist to monitor the medication and so far he has allowed me to set my own dosing and for how long--I just hope that lasts) at this website: http://www.mongan.com.au/effexorhell_forum/
My user name is ReadersLeaders, however for some reason I can't get into my account and now next to my postings it just says "Guest" The topic name where my tapering story is being recorded is under the title: "Weaning journey begins".
