I just got this from the library (by Joseph Glenmullen, MD and pub. 2005). Its subtitle: A step-by-step guide to safely overcoming antidepressant withdrawal, dependence and "addiction." He offers a tapering schedule, suggestions on how to monitor withdrawal symptoms and adjust the tapering, and a daily checklist to track symptoms.
It looks like a comprehensive and research- and experience-backed discussion of antidepressant actions, withdrawal symptoms, how to taper effectively, and what *not* to do. I'm impressed (and wish I'd seen this *before* I switched meds).
I'm also feeling angry and mistrustful of my psych MD who switched me so suddenly from Effexor to Prozac without a follow-up check-in. Not sure what to do about this. (Maybe tell him, Tiggercat?! lol)
Anyway, I'm curious if anyone's familiar with this book and what your thoughts are.
Hugs,
Tiggercat

Thanks for book reccomendation! i'm not familiar with it, I'll look for it when I'm goin to come off prozac again. On the subject of telling your Psych about incorrect advice given, DO tell him/her because they will never learn without feedback from patients. Tell them kindly and they will listen.
This is the end of the thread.
