And what was your experience on the drug in general?

Thanks.

I took Klonopin as needed for severe anxiety for a few years. I don't take it anymore, nor do I take any other benzos. Unfortunately, I end up abusing them (taking more than prescribed to knock myself out).

My experience with Klonopin was that it was very effective for controlling the anxiety but made me forgetful and depressed. I also had awful, vivid nightmares.

It may not be everyone's experience, but I found that (as with all benzos) the *rebound anxiety* produced by them was worse than my normal anxiety. Perhaps if I'd taken them on a regular basis instead of as needed (sporadically) that wouldn't have been a problem.

Good luck.

Thanks. I'm not really worried about abusing them but I am worried about the potential for worsening my depression. I guess time will tell. I just hope that the withdrawal isn't that bad.

Hi,

Do you mind if I ask you if you had a lot of trouble with grogginess in the beginning on the Klonopin? I am extremely groggy just from a quarter of a .5 mg. pill taken every other day! I know that others have had grogginess and that it has eventually gone away for them but I'm wondering if anyone has had that problem as intensely as I am right now.

Also, do you ever forget and miss a pill? If so, what happens? Do you get withdrawal effects right away or can the body tolerate one missed dose?

Thanks.

Kara

hey kara-
honestly at 1st, klonopin always made me very groggy and still does if i take more than i know i can handle. i'm supposed to take 3mg a day but i dont. i feel it's just 2 much 4 me, especially since quitting effexor 2 weeks ago. i feel 80% less anxious now so i only take 1mg of klonopin if i begin 2 feel a panic attack coming on or i have to go out into the world! i am in intense counseling RE: everything that is built up and is toxic inside but mainly an assault in 01 that i never dealt with. the klonopin is mainly for my severe social d/o due to PTSD but i'm hoping that once i give 110% to going through and dealing w/ the pain my sit. will improve. glad 2 help anyway i can-carolina
