im quitting effexor xr 150mg cold b/c i feel like crap w/ it so even though i know better from exp. w/ other meds, i figure i'll feel like crap w/o it. so far so good but its only day 2 going on 3. any1 else been ok doing this?-Carolina

Don't quit it cold! It would be better if you tapered it.... I tried (and failed) to quit it cold, my advice is too keep tapering it off really slowly...although I suppose it depends how long you've been on it - if its ages then you really should taper. Please take care :o) I've just tried quitting celexa cold, but last night I took half a tab to help the side effects.

Yes. Maybe a 5 out of 100 people will be ok. That's not very good odds.
Perhaps you should take some time before making a decison. It sounds like you are very impatient, and making such an impulsive decision might have serious consequences. The bad stuff usually begins on day 3 after discontinuation. If you begin to experience intense withdrawal symptoms, I would recommend that you restart the drug and use a flexible-dosing program to taper and discontinue the drug with a minimum amount of discomfort.

hey to all-just saw ur post SLS(was gone for a few) its going on day 10 (if i have my dates correct) w/o ANY efffexor and i feel better than i have in a LONG time??? things were rocky the first 7 days-trouble sleeping at night but fatigue during the day, sudden crying spells that only lasted a min. or so, and a few evenings of nightmares but either this is the calm b4 the storm or the worst is over 4 now. the only thing that is back IS MY APPETITE!!!!! i'm still trying to lose the last 25lbs i gained from having my lil boy (its prob. at 35lbs now!!) and i stay hungry!!! i'm trying to eat mainly veggies and low fat yogurt b/tween meals but i could eat a lg. pizza as a snack :-) maybe its b/c im pre mens monster that i feel so HUNGRY and HUGE!! take care
