What meds are you on? This happened to me on an ultra-high dose of Wellbutrin. I lowered the dose and it's stopped.

Yep, when I discontinued Lexapro I had body twitches.. especially in my sleep. In fact, my husband was convinced I had a seizure I twitched so badly once.

Weaning off benzos caused such twitching that I had to see a neurologist who told me to find a pdoc who would use benzos. I did and am now on valium, also no twitching. Fondly, Phillipa

its a pseudo-seizure type syndrome. caused by a lowered seizure threshold. these meds do that. its exactly like withdrawing froma benzo

I never heard of pseudo-seizures from W/D from AD's. Fondly, Phillipa

SLS has posted quite a bit on kindling, which is basically the pre seizure mode (psuedo-seizure) or lowered seizure threshold.
This IS basically what the withdrawl is. I have withdrawl from both Klonopin and Paxil , and Nardil and they are identical symptoms - such as the tingling or zap feelings, twitchs and jerks, anxiety, etc.
Yeah W/d from ADs is a lowered seizure threshold.

So again I say AD's are addictive also. So why do pdocs insist that they are better for anxiety? Fondly, Phillipa

I never had twitching until I came off the benzos and Anti-psychotics. I worried and still worry a little that it is Tardive dyskinesia. I have researched AP's and TD so much that I should feel better about not getting it but still have so many questions. I was on AP's for 2 years and a couple of months. I told my story on how these drugs ruined me and I am just now getting better. I will be off benzos a year in March and AP's a year in April.
The twitching that bothers me the most is the ones in my face and toes and hands. It isnn't alot but just annoying.

Thanks. The best thing I ever did was get off these drugs. I can't believe what they did to me. I have hope but some days are hard cause w/d hits me hard. The CNS doesn't heal in a linear fashion and healing could take many months to years. I believe eating right and exercise help so much. Take care and hope you are well.
