Hi All,
I'm new to the forum -nice to "meet" you all.
I have BPII and this is the second time my effexor has been reduced as part of a longer term plan to get me off of it (makes me hyper).
The first time (125mg-75mg) was o.k. I was pretty hypo-manicky and just "calmed down". But this time (75mg-35mg) is just terrible. I've read a lot of symptoms in common with many of you (constant teariness, exhaustion, etc.) but I was wondering:
has anyone else been experiencing hallucinations? I've been having visual (colour streaks, letters changing sizes on my keyboard) and audio (thinking my boyfriend's calling me when he's not).
It's been interesting for my writing (hmm...was that colour "grey" or "charteuse"?) but scary.
First time this has happened to me in my "mental health career". I should mention that I also just started Topamax at the same time they cut the dose of Effexor (but a very small dose).
Thanks in advance for any similar stories or advice.
:)

G'day!
Sorry, apologise for not having seen your post B4. What can I say but 'Welcome to the club'.
Yeah I had some weird things happen during the withdrawal - still am come to think of it. I kept thinking I was seeing things out the corners of my eyes. Drove me crazy :-) Also had trouble had a lot of trouble reading, typing etc as the letters and stuff just got all jumbled up or I just couldn't find the one I was looking for, and of course the flashing lights.
Never actually thought of "my mental health career", just of my mental health careering.
Hope you're doing okay.
This is the end of the thread.
