I am BP2 and smoke pot regularly. I am constantly intrigued yet repeled by the mental "trips" I keep having.

Anybody understand?

Of course. That's the most common response, isn't it? Most people don't like it much But it's quite an interesting drug....worst thing possible as a social drug or for something like going to the supermarket. Some people cope with it so well, some people are sent round the twist. We get so bored with ourselves, I guess.
Feeling fearful, uncertain and somewhat paranoid is one thing (quite familiar perhaps), but is it worse than that for you? You're BP2? One thing about pot is the way it disrupts the amphetamine effect. In the same way it seems to even some BP people out, perhaps?

Yes, I suppose I am bored with myself. I have been med free for about 8 months due to inadequate responses for depression. I guess pot gets me pretty dang high and helps depression. Yet it is really an imperfect drug for that because I crave alcohol when coming off it.
I wouldn't say I have a substance abuse problem, just a mild dependency.
Pot is so strong, but I like the way it expands my mind. As far as my emotions go, well it is horrible for that. I can break down easily.

Thanks for your post Declan
