It's ok to have wobbly days.

Posted by ClearSkies on September 17, 2006, at 14:06:38

I'm having a bad day. the kind of day when you stand in the aisle at the supermarket and cry buckets of tears, and you have snot running out of your nose, and no one, not nobody, notices you.

So I'm weeping all the way home and think - if I had a drink then I wouldn't hurt any more. I can do the thinking the drink through now, and I don't get past the pitiful wishing/hoping stage. Instead I had a cold tall glass of water, and got on to Babble.

But I think it's ok to have a wobbly day like this, and to get my thinking messed up too. As long as I don't follow through. Since I have as much ambition as my cat lately, that doesn't seem to be an issue.

that's all.

Hi ClearSkies,

Seems we blot out our emotions for so long that when we let them out, they d*mn well come out when they bloody well please.

I was w/ a girlfriend visiting her dying mother in the hospital years ago.

We were out in a common area and an older lady patient approached us. She was pulling around an IV carrier thing and was obviously quite ill herself.

She asked what we were doing there and my gf said she was visiting her mother who was dying. She asked me and I said I was there, you know, to be there.

This total stranger looked me in the eye and said,"You run well on a muddy track."

I made a b-line to the men's room. I didn't cry when I got there, I wept..a lot.
When someone is unexpectantly nice to me I lose it.

Sorry for the long post. You are doing so well, ClearSkies. In it's own way, today just added proof to that.

Your bud...Phil

Yes, it's VERY o.k to have wobbly days. A step back and a step forward. You'll feel better again, I know it. I wish I could cry. Can't do it anymore. Must have used them all up when I was little.
Just keep hanging in there,
antigua

It's better than ok.

If you said you didn't, I would think you were fooling yourself. If we ever get to that stage, we're primed for the fall.

Wobbly is just a reminder. Noticing the wobbly is great!

We have to find our own way, which means wobbly and uncertain.
Some ways are better than others.
Some things are hard to accept, such as being humiliated in front of someone else.
I think it's fine to get a bar of choclate and hide in the bath.
