I came too close to drinking today. Listened to Larry King's panel talk about addiction tonight and realized I need to RECONNECT to a real-life community.
Babble just doesn't work for me. Unreal blow-ups, relationships that in the end just aren't all that real, just more disconnectedness and emptiness really. (unreal, real, and really, all in one sentence?)
Each day I will attempt to get further out of my comfort zone and reconnect with a real-life community. I'll try church, small group meetings, perhaps even AA, and when I'm strong enough, a yoga class. (meeting a woman at a yoga class or spiritual "workshop" is the dream of all single guys in their second mid-life crisis.)
If I can stay sober a year, I'll pop back by and say "hello".
