Last night, after a number of drinks, I put my glass in the kitchen and parked myself on the floor near my husband and watched a movie with him. Without refilling my glass.
I actually remember brushing my teeth and getting into bed. I even read a few pages of my book. I slept fitfully and am typing this at 4.30am as sleep eludes me without my "sleeping pill".Being able to stop after a few drinks is something I *can't* do. And I did.
Felt nice! Even if I'm tired.
Just wanted to share.

Yeah, there is an awful lot of time once you are able to be present for its passing.
It's taken me a long time to learn that there are so many things I can do to fill what used to be a black blankness. I think it is only natural to find the newly found and empty time to be bewildering.(inside I am jumping up and down that you are posting!)

You weren't invisible. I read your post the day I read it, but had no words to say. You did something that is impossible for me, but then, I'm an alcoholic. For me, one drink, or two, is a waste of money, and my time. I have no idea of why one would want to do such a thing, with the exception of proving that they aren't alcoholic.If that was your intent, and you have done it, I applaud you. I'll gladly be a cheerleader. I just didn't post because I don't know how to react to controlled drinking. I'm sorry if my silence hurt you.
