2 Weeks

Posted by Mattsit on November 18, 2005, at 10:57:41

Its been about two weeks now. My biggest hurdle is the major anxiety. It seemed to really ramp up around days 3-5 and has sort of hit a leveling off point. Everything seems to be a major problem in my mind, even if only minor things are coming up. Anyway, here's to hoping the anxiety subsides a bit soon.

That's great! The beginning can be the hardest part. Just try to hang in there. Do something nice for yourself today, as a reward.
best,

I've read that the anxiety is our brain's response to alcohol starvation. My personal experience with Campral is that it really helped to reduce that anxiety. You can also add a chelated magnesium supplement to your day - it also helps to reduce anxiety. And therapy, of course :-)

I understand that anxiety is symptomatic of the chemical imbalance that alcohol depency creates in our bodies.

How are you doing today?

Its going ok. It seems like it has started to level off, and Im trying to think things through more rationally.

Hopefully the trend reverses itself eventually.
