First time posting on here, but Ill describe my issues and see if any of you have any similar experiences which I can learn from. I have smoked pot for a decade, with about 5 of those years being heavy (6-10 times a day). This summer was really bad. About two weeks ago, I decided to quit, prompted by a bad sexual experience. Since then, I cannot seem to get my head straight. I am obsessing about my inability to get it up, even though I have a few times without the aid of certain drugs. I have talked to my doctor and therapist, both of which recommended NA, counseling, quitting, and Effexor. I have been taking the Effexor for five days now, and it only seems to be making matter worse (anxiety attacks, lack of appetite, etc). My moods swings are intense, feeling great one afternoon and feeling like death the next day. I went from a sequre feeling person to questioning everything about my life, and am losing interest in all things that used to make me happy. Anybody had any similar experiences? And how effective is NA?

Effexor's not going to help you give up pot or help you get it up. Bad sexual experiences are common enough. Pot's not such terrible stuff if it doesn't affect you adversely (eg send you insane). You're young, you'll get better if you look after yourself. I think you should take heart, I mean I know it's not that easy.
