I recently saw a doco on Ozzy Osbourne, where he stated:
"I never drank socially, I never smoked dope socially, i never took Cocaine socially. I did it to get "f*cked up"?. "I was instantly an addict. I was born an addict".
At the height of his dissapation, he was doing $1000 Cocaine weekly+4 bottles Cognac daily.
Comments?Thanks

But I guess I'm a little different from him, because I'll happily use socially too ;-)
But socially... Well... Sometimes I wish other people liked to get as f*cked up as me ;-)For some people they just need to feel that high..
And they get addicted to that feeling.

Well then, I guess he could afford himself some fairly expensive therapy lol.
Tolerance.
The body conspires against you...
Doesn't matter how much money you have you can never have enough of the drug if its the drug you most desire.I think its sad.
Imagine what else he could have done with that money...
Imagine how much of his life and the significant events of other peoples lives that he missed out on...
Because when it comes to using...
When it comes to using coming first...
Other people get stomped on
As we work towards our own self-destruction
And I think its sad...

He must have had access to cheap coke then. Elton John said he was snorting it every 5 minutes, which sounds more like it. But 4 bottles of cognac a day?
I feel like that about drink too. Simultaneously too much and not enough. I tell myself again and again that less is more.

My basic point is when you feel scared and afraid alot, drink, drugs, mask, take away the feeling, until it wears off. You either recover, continue, or die-often a seemingly welcome to the problem:(
OK?

I have had a bit to drink tonight, i may take some Valium to top it off, I often wish i didn't wake up, if i took ALLthe meds i have that would probably happen, althought that would cause sh*t amoung my family. massive Valium+Imipamine+propranolol=sh*t.

I think jail is the fourth option.
Many, many of us ended up in the drink because of those feelings. I always felt like I was never good enough, good looking enough, funny enough.....
I always felt like no one liked me and I was all alone in the world. If someone, for some odd reason, *did* like me - well, something must be wrong with him.
But a couple of drinks? I was brimming with confidence. I could do anything.
It's a chicken and egg problem, but I've read that they are finding that more depressed people start drinking than drunks end up with depression. And a high number of depressives end up drink/drug abusers.
I finally, after years, quit the drink. Will it be forever? Who knows. But I figured out I could never get a grip on the depression with the drink complicating things. It's been a long road, but I think it has been worth it.
Good luck.

I agree, I couldn't even touch my depression or other assorted mental illness related problems until I stopped drinking. 1 drink is not ENOUGH, but it will send me right back to utter turmoil. Depression + drunk = complete ineptitude on my part.
>fun topic :)

I hear ya all, the booze DOES complicate mental health problems, and indeed this morning, i'v had a few to starve off the sh*t feelingd fromthe night b4.Alcohol seems to alieveate fear, lack of confidence, and other psychic sh*t. however when the stuff wears off, the symptoms return with avengince, thank god i got Stelazine, Valium, to keep me outa hosp,
F*ck, when the high of being, merry, drunk, hits, it's f*cking wonderfull.
