What are the posible risks with mixing alcohol and these meds: Zyprexa, celexa, wellbutrin sr, geodon.
I drink 3 measured drinks a day. Vodca. I take 2.5 mg zyprexa, 30 mg celexa, 300 mg wellbutrin sr, 4-60 mg geodons.
My docotors are all causioning me about alcohol. They say to drink only one drink a day. I drink 3.
I'm wondering if there is any big risk involved.

Wow, you drink less than me. But then, you have pot! (BTY, I'm supposed to get some tomorrow! Yea!) Anyway, I think there's no way of knowing one way or the other how alcohol effects meds. It is suggested that it does, but they haven't tested it enough yet. Alcohol is a depressant, which seems as if it would make you more depressed. But it makes me feel good, so who knows. I say the best way to tell is just to test it yourself. We're all doing the best we can to get through this crazy life. I don't fault anyone for doing something to make themselves feel better.

I don't know about the others but wellbutrin already lowers the seizure threshold and adding alchohol is supposed to increase the risk. I drank while taking wellbutrin, mostly moderately but sometimes pass out drunk with no problem and I actually had a seizure disorder when I was a kid. That's why they call it risk factor, it happens to somebody else often enough to be statistically significant.

I have been cutting down on my wellbutrin dose because it makes my stomack sick with alcohol. 200 mg in the morning seems to work better now.
This is the end of the thread.
