Marihoowanna: A love story.

Posted by Phil on May 16, 2005, at 18:24:16

Had to give it up. Been a few weeks now and hasn't been a big problem. Although, if I had a premium sativa around I'd be torching up about a foot long spliff. : )
I really had to stop to see exactly where I was emotionally with the bipolar stuff. I'm also back in therapy and didn't want to go through all that work then come home and hit the bong.
I quit drinking many years ago when I started meds. I also had the benefit of seeing what alcohol is capable of doing to a person who has hit bottom. I never wanted to go there so booze wasn't that tough for me to kick. I was close enough to the line and I knew the hazards of stepping over that line. I basically scared myself sober.
Pot has always been my drug of choice. I wouldn't say I was a heavy user unless one considers daily consumption for 10 years heavy. I've used pot for 34 years but the last ten were a little over the top.
So...we'll see where this road leads. I'm really a big fan of pot(nooooo!!!) so I'm not here to send a message. I'm just here to talk.
So far it feels okay to not be smoking while sitting naked on a bean bag eating Cheetos.
(I borrowed that line-thanks Tater)
If you aren't at the same place as me, fire one up and enjoy.

Sincerely,

Roland Numbers~~~

Weed will always be one of my greatest loves. I miss it sorely. I wish I was lighting up one right now but life has become too complicated to accomodate that scene right now. If I had to choose which vice my kids (God forbid) choose in life----I think pot does less evil than Alchohol---aside from the enevitable bad spelling. Phil--you're a better man than I for quiting out of choice. Maybe one day us two southern boys will share some skunk weed via the internet. :)

Wow, good for you. That's quite a big life change. I guess now that you've have quit smoking, it won't be too hard to give up the Cheetos either, eh? I'd hold on to the beanbag chair, though - they are comfy :-) I gave it up years ago (smoking drugs, not cheetos), even before I quit drinking. Didn't really miss it much myself, which made it easier to stop. I hope you can stick with it. But, I guess, a litte "toot" every once in a while wouldn't be such a bad thing ;-) And, good luck with the therapy. Hope it all goes well for you.

Take care,

Tamara

> Wow, good for you.

>>Thanks Tamara.

That's quite a big life change.

>>Yeah. Now I can remember where I put my car keys...sometimes. : (

I guess now that you've have quit smoking, it won't be too hard to give up the Cheetos either, eh?

>>Now wait a cotton pickin minute!

I'd hold on to the beanbag chair, though - they are comfy :-)

They are comfy, which is good. At my age my knees won't let me out of one.

I gave it up years ago (smoking drugs, not cheetos), even before I quit drinking.

Good for you! Any left over?

Didn't really miss it much myself, which made it easier to stop. I hope you can stick with it. But, I guess, a litte "toot" every once in a while wouldn't be such a bad thing ;-)

>>That's what I said 10 years ago. HaHa! Actually, I doubt I'll ever give it up completely but I'm okay for today.

And, good luck with the therapy.

>>We all know the truth - therapy is a nightmare. I have a good chance with this therapist though. He doesn't speak English.

Hope it all goes well for you.

>>Thanks...you, too.

>>Yeah. Now I can remember where I put my car keys...sometimes. : (

-- He he! Yah, but now you have to remember where you parked your car ;-)

>>They are comfy, which is good. At my age my knees won't let me out of one.

-- Oh, might wanna invest in one of those personal medical alert systems then - "Help me -I've sat down and I can't get up!" (sorry, couldn't resist, I am being silly)

Good for you! Any left over?

-- Nope, sorry, can't help you there :-(

>>That's what I said 10 years ago. HaHa! Actually, I doubt I'll ever give it up completely but I'm okay for today.

-- That's ok. Moderation is good. Oh and don't forget medicinal reasons ;-)

>>We all know the truth - therapy is a nightmare. I have a good chance with this therapist though. He doesn't speak English.

-- LOL, time to learn sign language I guess. My pdoc is french, and sometimes he starts going on in french. I speak french, but he always forgets that and repeats himself in english. He's 76, so maybe he actually forgot what he had just said a few minutes earlier - who knows.
