I am inbetween medications and have not been taking anything since last Thursday. My *devil desire* to drink seems less. At a party on Saturday night I paced myself and actually remember going home. I drank a glass of wine on Sunday and felt "ugh, I don't want this" so didn't drink any more. I had severe night terrors on Sunday night though. The alcohol takes my night terrors away.
I think my medication was increasing or feeding my "need" to drink. I don't know if that makes sense.

I don't if I noticed that one med or another has affected my desire for drink, but they certainly affect how my body reacts. You'd think when they put the stickers on the pill bottle that says, "Do not drink alcohol with taking this medication" that they could add one that says, "AND WE MEAN IT!"

It must have been a weekend thing. I guzzled like "normal" last night.

i know that alcohol prevents some antidepressants from working properly and can increase sedation when mixed with benzos. i just, in general limit how much i drink b/c i always feel like crap after drinking a little with the meds i am on (Trileptal, Abilify, Wellbutrin, Klonopin, Restoril). sometimes i really want to drink, but i don't think that the urge is med related. my advice: limit how much and how often you drink. once a week is my limit. set a limit and stick to it! good luck.
