antibiotics and ecstacy

Posted by stiffy on September 28, 2004, at 16:45:03

I have recently been prescribed by my dentist a course of antibiotics (metronidazole)to clear up a wisdom tooth infection.
However, I am concerned about any possible reactions of antibiotics whilst recreationally taking ecstacy or cocaine for one night. Does anybody know of any reactions? I have been warned that I should under no circumstances drink alcohol whilst taking the antibiotics.

I really don't know. What does the paper that came with your prescriptions say? Please be careful.

I'm no M.D., but don't believe that you will have any problems taking the X or the cocaine while on antibiotics.

As for alcohol, drinking while on antibiotics won't hurt you, but it will render the antibiotics much less useful in doing their thing. I presume that you are taking the antibiotics for a good reason and would prefer for them to work. :)

Anyway, while I have no specific firsthand experience taking X and coke while on antibiotics (but have plenty of experience with the X and the coke on other occasions) I think you'd be safe.

In any event, I always like to drink while taking X and coke, so maybe you should postpone this party until after you've taken the full course of the antibiotics. Just a thought.

Be Safe!
