my doc's got me on effexor and im just wondering what if an illicit substance should find its way into me...? i know mao inhibitors are dangerous but what about coke, pills, etc. i have no intention of going out and getting trolleyed but there's an upcoming event that i'll be attending where i'm quite positive there'll be lotsa stuff floating around and i KNOW its really bad and i shouldn't but i'm just curious.
any info would be appreciated. i really feel i can't talk to my doc about this stuff as he hasn't a clue that i've "dabbled" to begin with.

Alcohol is very nasty with effexor. A not-nice drunk followed by a hangover that doesn't end for 20 hours. I smoke weed with no (apparent) detrimental effects.

nightmare. i've not been drinking for a few months now - dryest i've been in a few years - but say i only had a few of glasses of wine, would the effects still be as bad? or can i basically just expect to fall over?! 6 weeks from now, i'll not be able to avoid a full-on EVERYTHING session but i'd like to be able to have a couple of social drinks while all the madness is going on...

I shouldn't think you'll fall over on a glass of wine, but be careful. The worst you'll look like is a cheap drunk :)
It the day after you'll regret.
