I try my best to be a bad aa but they find me!

Posted by owenus32 on June 4, 2004, at 22:48:11

I went online to look to meet wone in my area and met this woman and we talked and than I called her and it ends up she sounds like she thinks she may be an alcoholic and I spoke to her for like an hour about it. It's like I might try to be a jackass and not give back to thise in need but God will put them smack dab in front of me LOL

Do you suppose He might be trying to tell you something?

SO funny. I ended up renting an apartment in Toronto a few years back and lived beside a father and son who both had substance abuse issues. It's funny how those things get put in your path. Constant reminders for me of where I don't want to be in my life.

They asked me over for a drink one time after I gave them a piece of furnature that I no longer had use for and I told them that I was in program. From then on they hid their alcohol from me when I walked past them in the back alley and seemed to gain a whole new respect for me.

It's great that you can lead by example without even doing anything other than stay clean and sober :)

I hear you with this post for sure :)

Bea, that is funny, see you are a shining star without even trying, probably an example of hope to the father and son.

I hope so, I didn't push it on them, it's not my thing. It is so wierd what comes out when you just live life clean and sober after having substance abuse issues. There's a lot more of us out there than I ever thought :) Goood to know we aren't unique (even though it's often easy for me to convince myself that I am) Lol!

Sorry to be such a prude, but please don't use language that could offend others. The last time you were blocked, it was for 1 week, so this time, it's for 2.

Oops, I assumed it would be considered "often vulgar", and it turns out it isn't. I've unblocked you. Sorry,

Bob
