Why did you delete or push back all our posts? This has made me sick to the stomach. What the hell is the point in me taking the time out to post if you're just going to take it off. You have really annoyed me Bob..

There is only so much one board can hold, and Dr Bob can't afford never ending servers, so every now and again the board is archived.
This happens to ALL Psycho Babble Boards. If you look up near the top of the page, there are archive dates..
Previous periods
03 : September 3 | October 14 | December 8
04 January 30
04 April 9Click on the 04 April 9 link and you will see the posts that have just been archived.
It might also be nice to apologise to Dr Bob for your words.

I will not apologise my friend, I know for a fact a few posts make no difference to our thread. If it was jpeg's and mpeg's I would understand, but text, no, thats just being an arsehole. Why diden't he delete from the babble or social boards. He had to delete from us. As an experienced internet geek I know the posts he deleted are not saving him any web space.
As far as I'm concerned this was out of order... He could have deleted posts from last year which nobody will ever read.. I wasted much of my time typing my life only to find him delete my thoughts...
I'm very upset at the lack of intrest Mr.Bob shows to our heart felt posts.

Did you read what I said??
As "an experienced internet geek" you would understand the word archived. This means that they are NOT deleted, but that they are moved to a different area.
When someone clicks on a link for PB Substance Abuse they download the entire page. When you "own" a website, you pay for this downloaded material. By keeping the pages small, Dr Bob saves money.I also mentioned (if you had read my post) that this happens to ALL Psycho Babble pages.. on the main one, on Admin, on 2000.. It is triggered by the size of the page, not by date, so doesn't happen at the same time on every board.
O pointed you to the archives, so you can go back and contonue with the posts you are missing. If you reply to an archived thread, your reply WILL show on this page.
So, to summerise. *NO* posts have been deleted. Some posts have been moved to a different page for archive purposes.
And I've been in IT for 13 years now, and using the internet for 12 of those. So yes, I do know what I am talking about.
Please let me know if you understand what I am saying.

Doesen't change a thing NikkiT2, myself and Caper where having a heartfelt, (get to know eachother) convo, and Mr Bob decided to cut us off and destroy anyone else the chance to join the convo... Maybe Caper knows who I am but a newbie will have to learn all over again about me and her, that is just tedious and unnecessary.
I'm angry about the deleting or pushing back of so much I took the time out to type, what was the point when you have a moderator who thinks he's God....

They were not deleted, they were archived.
if you go back, and post again on tha thread, as I said, your post WILL show on this board so the thread can continue. There are threads on PB that have been going years since their origonal post and are probably 200 long.
Dr Bob himself has done nothing. It is an automated process, it was not personal, and the process makes no distinction between the threads.
Please continue with those posts. They've not dissapeared, have not been deleted, and are in the "04 April 9 " page just waiting to be read.
This has to be done on any site. No site can keep every thread showing for years and years on end. This is the way this site works.

Its not a few days.
The board has been archived from 9th April, so by my reckoning, thats nearly two months.
I can explain the idea of archiving to you if you wish. Its done AUTOMATICALLY. Dr Bob is NOT doing anything to offend you on purpose. This happens to ALL PB pages.
When eahc page reaches a certain size (Dr Bob could probably tell you what size this is), it automitaclly archives everything that is older than 2 days. Any posts within the previous 2 days will stay on the board, so your claims on "a few days" are wrong I'm afraid.
I keep trying to explain that the posts are still here, still postable on, still searchable on. They are simply under the other link. if you click on that link and post a reply on your thread, it will show up HERE..
I'm afraid I am really failing to see the problem as the posts haven't been deleted or anything like that.. they are just being shown on a different page. ALL message baords I have ever used (so, probably a hundred or more over the past 10 years) do the same. I can't recall seeing a sinmgle message board that has all posts showing on the same page the whole time, unless it has very little turn over and thus few posts. I don't know whether youhave noticed what a popular site PB is, but trhere are tons of posts here every day.

> Why did you delete or push back all our posts?
Because if all 2083 posts stayed on the same page it would be unwieldy?
> This has made me sick to the stomach. What the hell is the point in me taking the time out to post if you're just going to take it off. You have really annoyed me Bob..
Sorry, but as Nikki has tried to explain, no posts are archived immediately or (so far) removed permanently.
> thats just being an arsehole.
Please don't use language that could offend others or post anything that could lead them to feel accused or put down.
If you have any questions or comments about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:
http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/faq.html#civil
or redirect a follow-up to Psycho-Babble Administration.
Sharing something about your own issues and their possible role in your reaction might be an interesting exercise -- and might help others respond to you supportively.
Thanks,
Bob

Sorry Dr.Bob, I wont use this board while drinking alcohol again. I'm not too civil when I'm drinking.
My apologies (again!!)
