i know there's no magic answer out there, but i could use some thoughts and support. i'm sober since '00 and smoked crack for the first time friday night since then. finally slept and woke up today feeling like hell and depressed, ashamed, scared. i was going to grind it out, face the music, etc. this evening i scored some more and now i'm getting high again. chasing that first hit is all i'm doing in reality. anyone know the best way to come off crack (aside from hospitalization?) thanks in advance.

Crack is the only illegal substance I've never abused (or even smoked once). I only know a few people who have been down that horrific road and they where already heroin addicts. From what I know unlike coke, crack is pretty much first time addiction and will absolutely destroy your life faster than michael schumacher on a straight track.
You need to take a serious look at what you're doing to yourself my friend, I know you can talk to god on that stuff. Get help NOW before it's too late.
Good luck.

Crack is a killer. I think being hospitalised is a good option. If you are dea set against this look up your local Narcatics Anonymous helpline and ask for help. Someone who has been in the same boat will come and help you...take you to meetings, and just get you through the inititial withdrawal in company. Stop before it's too late. I have seen far too many people die from this drug. You are not alone with this. ((((((craig allen))))))
