Klonopin withdraw and burning?

Posted by greenwillow on May 11, 2004, at 15:45:45

Still going thru the Klonopin withdrawal, very slow rate, and I have developed a burning sensation mostly on the right side of my body and right leg. I don't really know if it is from the Klonopin withdrawal, because I have plenty of underlying medical issues and recent severe accident which may be the cause. However, overall, I have experienced about every withdrawal symptom know to mankind! I am wondering if others of you have experienced burning sensation that you could definately attribute to Klonopin, exactly what if felt like (body wide or just certain parts?) and if there was anything that helped it?

I am off the konopin now for 15 days major withdrawal still going on. But yes I did have and still do have a pins and needle burning feeling in my feet. Mostly my right one that goes up my leg. I don't know if this is the same pain as yours but it is like an intinsified foot going to sleep pins and needles feeling.

Do you have derealization at all I have it 24/7 it never goes away

Having heard about the cross-tolerance of benzos and alcohol, I'd be curious if a drink or two temporarily relieves the derealization.

Yes it does. I don't drink that often but 2 glasses of wine or 2 beers does lessen it. I can't drink much using klonopin I get really shakey after the alcohol wears off.

Greenwillow, I asked my pdoc about you and she said yes that the burning is a withdrawal of klonopin. Although she did say you may want to talk to your doctor about it too.
