I had two scripts filled recently and the doc put like a T with 2 dots over it IN THE REFILL AREA. I think? that meant 2 refills BUT I got my scripts today and only 1 refill on each. I called the pharmacy and was told they see 1 who is right please? I asked the pharmacy to call my doc but he mostlikely forgot what he scribbled. And I wish the doc had used real numbers not odd junk. I googled this but cant seem to find the right words to get an answer and I think I got screwed on my refills :( I am keeping the bottle to prove to the doc I didnt mess with the numbers cause I will run out before he thought..I think? THANKS AHEAD

Hi Fallen -- me again!! ;o)
Docs use that code on prescriptions for refills and for the directions themselves. And you're right, the 'T-looking thing' with the two lines and the two dots means TWO. Three lines & dots means THREE, and so on.
Don't you HATE IT when docs 'forget' what they gave you, and then act like you're just trying to pull something!!! :o( Did the 'code' for two refills get typed correctly on the bottle the first time you filled it? If so, do you think you still have that bottle? If you can find it, I would take it down to the pharmacist & show them. Also, I'm not sure about all scripts, but I think that most get 'photocopied' these days (as opposed to a carbon copy like in the 'old days' - lol) onto some kind of microfische in the pharmacy, so they cut down on mistakes like this. Ask to see the copy of that original written script so you can verify what you know it said!!!
I have had this happen to me before too!! If you are sure of what you saw, make them prove to you it wasn't TWO refills!!
Let me know what happens, ok?!! Hope this helps!!! :o)
Take Care...............

Hey sweetie thanks see I THOUGHT IT MEANT that too IF I recall right it was one T with 2 sloppy dots and I just had it filled came home late and saw the 1 not 2 refills..I called the pharmacy and asked them to look, the one dude I trust he said he was looking at it after a few minutes and it was one...(no way) SO maybe I WILL call and go in and relook at it...He also said he would call my doc and who knows what this doc and we both agreed numbers are better than these old seldom used symbols I wonder what will doc think on me cause it all soooooo druggie sounding..hahaha and we know I hate that idea of extra refills on Ambein and Valium :)
thanks @-->--

The T with # of dots is how many pills a day you take.

Um, what medication is the Rx for? You seem pretty concerned with being able to get it, even though you have at least 60 days before you have to worry about it. Did you say it's for Valium or Ambien? If so, it sounds like you may like it a little too much. I'm not trying to be rude, I speak from experience. I'm in love with a pill too, and I flip out if I'm not sure I'll have it. Just an FYI though, try not to give an impression to your doctor that you're freaking out over the refills--it gives them a major "red flag".

I went to get my refill today and they did now change it to the 2 refills I was suppose to get. My doc for some odd reason used the code they use for 2 the T with 2 dots in the text of a RX in the refill area...and well anyhow its all fixed and I did in the end of all this..get my other refill back...man I am mentally addicted sad to say
