I am almost afraid to know why you are asking about high dosages.

However, tolerance is caused by the body's need to sustain a particular metabolism. When the cells of the body are aided in production of a chemical, or aided in the sustanation of a level of a chemical, the cells that are affected will adjust so that original levels are again attained. When you don't aid your body anymore, the cells freak out because now they have to do work that they haven't had to do in a while - they get lazy. That is what causes withdrawl. For example, amphetamines cause the body to produce dopamine. This chemical is related to clarity of thought, muscle coordination and metabolism. This is why people in withdrawl are lethargic can't think and experience "parkinsonian-like" symptoms - hence, the shakes.

The long term affects can cause those cells to deteriorate. This is also seen in some lab studies of short term use of amphetamines.

All stimulants are highly addictive. Amphetamines, methas and cocaine are not like caffeine. Also, ritalin and adderal fit into these categories as they work in the same way. Caffeine shows VERY little dopamanergic affect and does not affect your CNS quite as brutally. However, I wouldn't try to get high off vivarin or no-dos either because they do blow your BP through the roof!

One last, ephedra is what amphetamines are derived from. Yes they are natural, but they do the same thing and can be potentially just as deadly. The only reason people like things to be natural is because there is a tendency for natural substances to process through the body better. Yeah, and cyanide is natural too, but I ain't eatin' it!!!

the most i've done was smoke 6 points of crystal meth in one day. so that would be .6 of a gram or 600 mgs? i think that's right. anyway, i weighed 97 pounds at the time. i know because they weighed me after they brought me back from death at the hospital. i'm not kidding. i was 20 and my heart just gave out on me. it went really, really fast for a bit. then stopped. started again. then stopped. all i remember was that the pain was out of this world, like my heart was being ripped from my chest. the hospital staff brought me back with a bang. wow. i found god that day. well, my god, anyway. but that's another story.

stay away from speed, man. i'm lucky i had a relatively short run in w/ it. friends of mine are ruined now forever. but no one ever believes that it will happen to them. good luck.

peace.
tai
