We have not progressed to that level of sophistication yet where I live. Still at the chocolate coated bacon strip stage.

i haven't even tried bacon and maple syrup, yet. i think of bacon as savory and maple syrup as sweet... and chocolate, too... though my friend used to make mole (sp?) sauce sometimes... which was savory... and chocolate... i mean... i'm just saying that ham and pineapple rubs me the wrong way... and i don't feel right about bacon and chocolate... i've never seen or heard of bacon cookies!!!
sounds very... canadian!
i love cheese... i think i might slow cook a lasagne next... ricotta... mmm...

grilled cheese and tomato sandwiches. Scrambled eggs smothered in cheddar and salsa. Spinach omelet smothered in feta. Goat cheese with figs.
For three years I was on parnate and couldn't eat cheese. I love cheese.

i don't much like blue cheese. it smells like vomit, i reckon. but other cheeses...
i couldn't find ricotta at the supermarket today. or at any of the indian / chinese corner stores on the way home... i didn't think ricotta was particularly exotic or anything... was fairly sure it was standardly next to the cottage cheese and sour cream, but guess not.
i'm very disappointed. i have most of the stuff for lasagne... and i do have tasty cheddar... but i was looking forward to ricotta :(

i'm not entirely sure about goat cheese. or sheep cheese, actually. same... sort of stinky... sweaty. that's what it reminds me off... stinky sweat. or vomit. i like lamb... hogget (year old lamb), even... even though it is a stinky, uh, almost gamy meat... but something about goat or sheep milk makes me think of the simpson's episode where the mafia were milking rats for school milk... irrational... but there it is.
i found ricotta. heaps expensive. got a small tub anyway. apparently you can make it. odd thing is i've never actually brought it before... just been reading recipes and got it into my head... it is like slightly creamier cottage cheese but without the nasty texture. should be cheap. cheese making by-product... mind you... that's what protein powder is, too, and cheap that is not...
anyway... lasagne is cooking... it might well take care of cheese cravings for a while... shame i don't have a freezer...
i really love figs but hardly ever get to eat them. i like them when they are sticky / gooey... yum. dates, too... i wonder if i can make sticky date pudding in the slow cooker? with caramel sauce...
