And quite frankly, i dont want to be the douche that f*ck*d up their lives and gave nothing back.
I mean seriously, maybe we all would do eachother a bigger favor by hanging out and talking about life in the social forum rather than talking about that xyz alpha beta epsylon rezeptor that might magically change our lives. After so many other approaches have failed.
Im not giving up meds. Im just alot more skeptical than i used to be. Maybe it helps, thats great. But if it dont there has to be an alternative. I am discouraged by meds and encouraged by how much social support makes a difference.
Why not hang out in the social forum and see how we can reconnect?

Works for me. I don't visit the med board much anymore. It all gets too technical and too much negativity - not that the negativity may not be called for, but it gets wearisome. Then again, I haven't had an extended bout of depression in a while. I still have extreme acute bouts, but I pop some haldol and ativan, sleep for 36 hours, and usually wake up feeling more in control. So I'm not still on the med merry-go-round, trying to find a way to feel well. For me, therapy and support groups are invaluable. Also the help and kindness I find on this board.

It's gotten very technical on the med board. I remember when topics were what is your experience with xxxx med and that was it. What followed were those that had taken the med. I am not adding any meds either. Would like to cut them out. Maybe can maybe can't but they don't seem to do much for me. Therapy didn't work for me. I know what my problems are and know what to do. It's doing it that is hard. Phillipa

I have to agree on some of your thoughts. The big money makers, bigger penis, grow hair, mental illness. They all fall into the same wishes. Yet we still line their pockets knowing the odds.
BUT we also do not have a choice when one hurts. The best I can do is stay with my meds and do healthy things for my body, eat well, sleep, exercise. If I can do those 3 things at least I don't have to feel ill effects from them. Then whatever the meds do.....
I'm one of the very fortunate ones. I would not be 60 yrs. old if it wasn't for Nardil. From 22 yrs. old until @2004 I lived a pretty good life. Then the pharm had to take some "inactive" ingredients out of the formula. Apparently those ingredients weren't so inactive.
But I'm not going to surrender on meds as I "know" some are helped and this is an awesome place to communicate each ones success/failure.
What you share may benefit another so pls. continue to share as I believe one day the "sun is going to shine on you" and we'll all love to read that.

Yeah i tried tianeptine and it threw me back in my plan to cut down the Neuroleptics.
But i have great support nowdays.
I live in an institution that offers alot. You stay there one to several years and they help you as much as they can.
After that im founding a dorm for people with mental difficulties. If all goes well in the house that i grew up in. This perspective gives me strength

Well co-founding. Together with an association called "Perspectives". They will help us out in our lives.

I just found out we prolly need to find another house.
Well i want us all to feel well connected and get ongoing support in life.People should respect eachother.
We should get the right amount of support in the areas of our lives that need improvement.
And help to hold down a job.

We need to find a new house though.
Trying to make this work.. A new house though means that i may be able to move in quicker and have less time in the institution im in now. Its a really good one, but its still an institution
