I ate a whole 4 pack over 4 days of the recalled lot of moldy Chobani yogurt! It was coffee with chocolate chips, so I thought it was supposed to taste weird. I should've listened to husband, who opened a cup and said, Im not eating that. I grabbed it and said I'd eat it, it wasnt expired and I love coffee. I didnt know about the recall until I was on my 4th cup. Having anxiety makes u go crazy when these things happen, and I almost went over the edge, but clung to my sanity by forcing myself not to draw rash conclusions, such as: Ive eaten moldy yogurt, therefore, I will end up in ICU with mold growing thruout my body.

I thought yoghurt *was* a mould. Chocolate yoghurt with chocolate chip sounds less yoghurt and more additives and preservatives... But then additives and preservatives don't go mouldy. So I'm not sure I follow...
Contaminated yoghurt?

The Chobani brand put out a recall on some of their yogurt. The plant where it was made had not been properly sanitized in certain areas, causing mold to form in some products. Mold, the kind that can make u sick, is common in dairy plants, if they dont clean properly. I had several containers of yogurt once, from a health food store, that i had to return because I could see the mold. This yogurt was coffee/chocolate and I didnt see the mold, but it was fizzy tasting and didnt have the consistancy of greek yogurt. The fda is investigating 89 cases of illness from this mold.

I felt like I was having an allergic reaction in my chest & my stomach had a burning sensation for several days. Had tightness in chest but this was after reading about the recall. So it may have been just anxiety. The company says this mold doesn't cause vomiting or diarrhea. I'm usually cautious about what I eat due to my anxiety. Don't know why I didn't follow hubby's lead.
