The trick, William Potter, is *not minding* that it hurts.

Phillipa - I just wanted to point out that while medications can kill, there are some things that kill many more. A certain person should not say that one should replace the other.
I don't deny that there is good in both, but let's keep it real.
How many more deaths would there be without psychotropic medications? A certain person does not see this.

Is this really a thread for people who are scared of Christians?
It must be a first at Babble if it is.

I have a long history with the JW. To begin with I tried saying that, yes, I wanted to read the Bible (but of course the King James Version) and could we do a deal on what we read, Ecclesiastes and Job for me. So we started on their choices, Daniel and Revelations, leading via a tortuous argument from the dream in Daniel, all proving that only the JW were right and everyone else was wrong.
And then what happened is they asked me what I thought of their argument. This was clearly the time to speak up or join, so I told them it wasn't convincing. And that was it....no Job or Ecclesiastes for me.
Every few years they get new people who do the area and they turn up offering the Watchtower and the other thing. I don't feel so much now that I have to protect them seeing the awful standard of their literature. I feel sorry for the kids though.

They are more persistent than a used car salesman and no matter where you live they will find you.
I don't like any religious organization that sends people out to knock doors. If what they offer is so compelling people will find them. Like a good BBQ joint for instance.

I was amazed to see that they were carrying the Watchtower, which they tried to offer to us.I pretended that I couldn't understand them and they politely moved on. It was weird, though, because I hadn't realized they were active in Europe.

Like the plague. I had a man and woman come here three times. They were very well dressed, very polite and I just couldn't say **** off. I didn't answer the door the last two times.
It's like Sears coming to your door with their latest microwave.

Yes. They seem so hopeful. They even suggested I could keep old copies of the Watchtower to read again later or show my friends.
