Fix U by Coldplay, it was the first song I listened to after my breakdown. I wouldnt listen to music for months.This one helped me. If Im in a serious depression,I wont listen to music or watch tv.

yeah, the lyrics of Novacaine are great.I haven't listened to your Coldplay tune yet, but not b/c I haven't tried. My poor little laptop just can't handle youtube, and my desktop, which could handle it, for some reason won't go online. I'm plannning to fix the desktop tomorrow, so I promise I'll give it a listen. I'm sure I'll like it cos I like Coldplay.
I'm like you, gadchick; if I'm really depressed I can't listen to music, watch TV, or watch movies. I hadn't listened to music for like 2yrs, and it's a testament to the fact that I'm feeling better that I'm back to listening to it...didn't realize til now how much I've missed it.
How are you doing these days? Better I hope.

awww benny, i'm so frustrated, still can't get online so i can check out the youtube tunes...and here i love metal bands.
but, i've figured out the pc problem, i need a new effing router, which i plan to get tomorrow, so i'll check em all out then

Anyways, Restless Heart Syndrome has what I consider the BEST lyrics of any song I've ever heard when it comes to feeling depressed.

Thanks for asking Kat,I had nowhere to go but up,so Im better,have had times of complete contentedness. However,Im now heading toward menopause,and dropped my only child off at the university. Its a weird time of life.The best to you,and hoping you are doing better with all things.

Something to make me happy instead? Rachael's Reel by a "Irish new traditional" (that's how they refer to themselves-- Ceol Nua Dúchasach) band named Kíla. But you have to appreciate modern Irish "folk" music (it's mainstream from what I understand there). Probably the happiest song I've ever heard. If you have iTunes, you can hear a very nice 1min 30sec preview of it ... it's the 8th track on an album iTunes has listed as "Lemonade and Burns" by just Kila (no fancy i). It's really "Lemonade and Buns". "Lemonade and Burns" makes them sound like some sort of Irish Folk Death Metal band advocating setting your flesh on fire and dousing it with an acidic drink ... they really are much more pleasant than that. This song is one of their instrumentals. The iTunes preview captures one of the interesting things about some Irish folk ... of how different members of the band join in at different moments (for this song it's a bit more "formal" than typical) till the Uillean pipe comes in for the main theme and finally one of their whistle players adds in at the "chorus" of the song .... then the preview ends. If you like the preview, you'll love the rest. All the vocals are in Irish, for the songs with vocals. If you like Irish music and/or happy music, Kila is where it is at.
