A long time ago I was visiting home (my parents were then alive) and I had "When the Wind Blows" with me. I made the mistake of showing it around and making everyone very angry, including myself when I saw how they reacted.

The Snowman is a book that my son and i read every year at christmas,then watched the dvd,which is lovely.Of course this is no longer done,as my son is now 19.I have not seen other books by him, will check some out at the library.

It's about some nice people who trust the authorities and make futile efforts to protect themselves as nuclear war breaks out. Funny and bleak, as is appropriate. Cold war stuff.
