Hi,
I interviewed recently for a new teaching job. Its about a 30 min drive. The job posted was only part time, but during the interview they said that they were in the scheduling phase, and there might be additional courses that could make the job full time.
Part of the reason I applied for *this* job was because it was part time. While, I don't even have the job yet, I find myself constantly jumping to the worst case scenario (i.e. other, more difficult courses are added). I feel that its not possible (in my situation) to turn down a job offer - I would likely never be considered for jobs again at this school.
Anyhow, I'm just concerned about possible workload and going crazy. I feel trapped.
I guess I need prayers more than anything.

I'll send good wishes your way. As far as the job opportunity changing, they don't seem to know with any certainty.
I'd try to take it a day at a time, go easy on yourself and take good care of yourself.
Good luck :-)

Ditto SG's comment.
You'll be o.k.

Hi Link...
Maybe they were just letting you know about possibilities.. and it`s not that you`d be required to teach additional courses? They may just be assuming you`d prefer full-time.
The good news is that they must have been impressed with you! If you get an offer, I`d just let them know that at thia point in your life, you would like to only work part time, because you like the freedom part time provides.
I`m running myself ragged working for free (clinicals). I just accepted a job working on-call and PRN.
This is the end of the thread.
