So odd to see a rapture joke here. Just today I saw a bumper sticker that said "When the rapture comes, can I have your car?"

in the twinkling of an eye. It's always good to see you Tabitha. Friends from way back are comforting----especially since you haven't changed your name a thousand times like some-- to hide whatever it is that "they " are trying to conceal. Shifty or paraniod? Doesn't matter---I can't bring myself to trust someone always wearing a disguise. Still----I will cling to the happy freedom of the days of yore here---positivity(is that a real word?).

I heard that a lot of posters have been seen on other sites. No idea if this true or not but it sure is quiet. Phillipa

Yeah, it's pretty darned quiet isn't it!

Poo.

Well, not poo if everyone is feeling better I guess.

I think it's the Christian rapture, you know, when the second coming happens and all the good christians are supposed to be sucked into heaven instantaneously, leaving the rest of us here for a bunch of war and tribulation.

Not all Christian belief systems include the Rapture. I've never heard it referred to as a belief in any of the three churches I've belonged to.

Just a clarification, and not in any way meant to be anything but respectful to those Christians whose belief systems do include the concept.

When did I first hear of the (charmingly named) rapture?

It certainly wasn't in Sunday School, though I was taught by Baptists who followed Revelations quite closely.

I think maybe it was the early 80s.
