Today is my birthday.
I'm 49. How bizarre. I still feel 22. I'm almost 50 years old!
I am still full of that energetic fascination with all aspects of the Universe - with the possible exception of rap music. I am actually entertaining the idea of going back to school full-time and studying biology.

Oops----I posted HB above. I think that a half of a century will hit me worse than 30 or 40---because at 30 or 40 --I can still be in somewhat plausible denial and get a hall pass. However, 50 is confirmation that the transition is upon me. My prescription---to both of us--is to squeeze every last ounce of joy and pride in still being 40 something! Hope your's is smashingly fun.

And going back to school sounds great to me. You'd do great in biology I'm sure. If this is the right time in your life to do that, you should do it.
I know what you mean about age. I'm around your age, and I was so depressed to learn that the nice older lady at work is just three years older than I am. I console myself with the fact that I'm immature.
