getting off of Effexior XR

Posted by redhead123 on January 3, 2009, at 21:13:00

It has been almost 4 months that I have been off of this med. I went threw the weaning process. going from 300 mg a day to none. The side effects and withdrawals were unbelievable I started feeling better physically but now am having a great amount of anger and neck pain. I seem to have no patients for anyone or anything. Can anyone please tell me how long before I feel better.

Wow~you went off of 300 mg to nothing in one day? Did your doctor know that? Prozac can help some people. I think I would call him/her and ask for some assistance.

It took me about 3 to 4 months to get off of 75mg without dying. Headaches, neck hurt, spacey, jumpy and electrical zaps in my brain!

I really do believe that you need some medical intervention, like tomorrow. I cannot imagine how painful this has been/is for you.

Please babblemail me if you want to talk. Or keep me posted here.

Hi Redhead.

Welcome to Babble. It can be confusing here, with lots of boards. I've redirected your post to the Withdrawal Board, where it might get more replies. Here's a link.

But I hope you feel free to stick around the Social board. And there are other boards here too. There are links to the various boards at the bottom of each page.

It did take me a long time before I felt myself. The brain zaps lasted for a very long time and that was what bothered me the most. The headaches would be next. Have you had the feeling that rocks are grinding around in your skull? I experienced that and others that I've talked to did.

I'm in this with you. Pat
