..And I got a few of my marks from university. In my fourth year Education course, I got an 82, and (so far..because I still have a few months to go) I hold an 80 or so average in my Advanced Abnormal Psych Issues 4th year class.(I know plenty about being "abnormal"...lol.) So, I soon have to pick, either teacher's college, or more grad school. Hmmmm...
For Xmas break, I am reading:
"When Faith Is Not Enough" , "Sins of Scripture" , and "The Spiritual Brain"
Nice LITE reading, eh?...heh..

39 is a great place to be---not too young---not too old. If I remember correctly---Jack Benny was 39 for about 39 years.

Happy Birthday Jay. Just beginning the downward arc. I never expected to reach 28.
My light reading is the same as last year. I just fished it out because it's the only thing I can concentrate on
"The SS Alibi of a Nation" by G. Reitlinger.
It has this truly wonderful quote at the beginning that illuminates a mindset....
"Through Charlemagne Christianity and with it Jewry got a foothold in our regions. (Ten minutes ago another alert was sounded in Munich.) I explained this to Eike and Gertrud. Let's hope they grasped it."
Gerda Bormann to her husband, 12 September 1944.

>Well..I will choose....ABNORMALITY..anyday..lol. :-) You know it's weird (I forgot to congratulate you on your studies too..sorry! Good stuff!) but you likely know this feeling. You are at the end of a term, and you swear you will NEVER read ANYTHING ever again..not even the TV listings...lol. But, 2-3 weeks into being done school for the break, I've got all of these books lined up to read, screw my mind around more..lol. Well, reading is likely the healthiest thing I do in my life, so hey!
Take care...
Jay :)

Hey, thanks Bobby. You know, I think Jack was maybe 39 for about..mmmm..1 year, approximately. I could be mistaken, though. :)You know (if I may be a downer..lol) it's sad because they just don't make GREAT comedians anymore. They are a dying breed. Robin Williams, Steve Martin are getting older...George Carlin(RIP)...even Frank Zappa, who the world NEEDS so badly, because I thought he was comedic in a way through his music, and I loved so much of his stuff. I remember sitting in the basement bedroom with my friends as a kid, with the sound turned down, listening to "Joe's Garage" ("This is the central scrutinizer..."..lol) plus other great hits like "Catholic Girls" (Gawd..I won't dare mention the lyrics..I'll be banned for life...lol. And yes, I am a Catholic Guy..hah)
Sorry..got lost in the moment..;-)

> Gerda Bormann to her husband, 12 September 1944.Hey Sig, thanks! Sounds like very good reading, heart wrenching and soul destroying as it is. I also have "Night" by Elie Wiesel in my to-get-to list. One area that I am going to try to do some research on, next term, as a student Educator is why school curriculums don't include more mandatory humanities and social science courses and material. I read of a survey done earlier this year here in Canada among Grade 9-12 (14-18 year olds) students on questions around history, politics, and current world events, and the correct average was slightly less then 60 percent. I looked up the questions too, and they where quite common ones.
Well, I don't think I have to make any statement about history, forgetting, and repeating itself.Best,
Jay
